유용한 팁!

 

"job hunting", "job seeking" 또는 "job searching"과 같은 표현들, 모두 "looking for a job"을 의미합니다.

Job seeking is exhausting.

유용한 팁!

   

job advert는 회사에서 공석인 role이나 position를 알릴 때 사용합니다.
직업에 대해 이야기할 때 이 두 단어를 서로 바꿔 사용할 수 있지요.

You need a degree in foreign languages to apply for this position. (이 직종에 지원하려면 외국어 학위가 있어야 합니다.)

We have three applicants for that role. (해당 직무의 지원자는 3명입니다.)

 

to send an application
입사 지원서를 보내다

 

When you send an application, you need to include a summary of your experience and qualifications.
입사 지원서를 보낼 때는 자신의 경력과 자격 요건을 요약한 것을 포함시켜야 합니다.

 

 

유용한 팁!

   

영국에서는 경력 및 자격 요건을 요약한 것을 "CV"라고 하고 미국에서는 "résumé"라고 합니다.

 

 

• I am going to update my CV today.
  오늘 이력서를 업데이트하려고 합니다.

to update your CV'은 이력서에 최신 정보를 추가한다는 뜻입니다.

가끔씩 “interview”는 명사로 사용하기도 하고 어떤 경우에는 동사로 사용하기도 합니다. 예문들을 살펴보겠습니다.

I have an interview tomorrow at 10am. (명사)

My manager interviewed three candidates for the role. (동사)

로버트는 매우 체계적입니다.

 

Annette is quite impatient. However, she is flexible and driven.

면접을 마치고 구직 과정이 끝나게 되면 "job offer"를 받게 되기를 바라지요! 여기에 해당하는 표현을 다음에 나오는 명사와 동사 형태로 볼 수 있습니다.

My dad received a job offer yesterday - he's really happy! (명사)

I think they are going to offer him the job today. (동사)

 

• They should offer him the job, he has a great CV and did well in the interview.
  그를 뽑아야 해요. 이력이 좋고, 면접도 잘 봤거든요.

 "They offer you the job" means they want you to work with them.

 

to accept
받아들이다

 

Robert is going to accept the job offer today.
Robert는 오늘 그 일자리 제의를 받아들일 것입니다.

 

to decline
거절하다

 

I declined the job offer because the salary wasn't very good.
급료가 별로 좋지 않았기 때문에 나는 그 일자리 제의를 거절했습다. 

 

 

• Jamie has a new job. 
  Jamie에게 새로운 일자리가 생겼습니다.

 

• Jamie accepted the job offer.
  제이미는 그 자리를 수락했습니다.

"to accept a job offer" means to agree to work for a new company.

"a candidate" is a person who applies for a job and "an interview" is a process of asking and answering questions.

 

 

• Simon doesn't think she would be a good fit for the position.
  사이먼은 그녀가 적임자가 아니라고 생각합니다.

"to be a good fit for a job" means to be perfect for a job.

 

 

• You need a degree in foreign languages to apply for this position.
  이 역할에 지원하려면 외국어 학위가 있어야 합니다.

"a position", "a job", "a role" can be used interchangeably.

 

• I hope I made a good impression in my interview!
